Go to Enquiries & Quotation | Return to Sydney | Return to previous page Sydney Golf International visitors are welcome but you should carry a letter of introduction from your club if you wish to play Sydney's and Canberra's prestigious private courses. The Australian and Royal Sydney are very highly rated golf courses. The Australian is rated #4. A Coolabar favourite is the New South Wales Golf club, rated #43 in the world and #3 in Australia. Other highly rated courses to play are The Lakes and Bonnie Doon to name two (there are more). On the north-side you will find Riverside Oaks and south-west of Sydney, the Camden Valley Lakeside course designed by Peter Thompson. Nearby, play the Camden Valley Resort course. All three are resort courses and offer motorized golf carts as does many other Sydney courses; many do not so be prepared to walk where m'golf carts are not available. Again, The Australian, Royal Sydney, NSW and The Lakes are world class private member courses. Play Royal Canberra golf and see Australia's Government capital when flying or driving south from Sydney. Restricted visitor times apply at Royal Canberra. The Yowani Country Club is far more relaxed and well worth the effort to play, as well, offering stay & play accommodation & marvellous golf amongst the tall eucalypus trees. Play all year round. Sydney Itinerary suggestion Upon arrival at the Kingsford Smith International airport, transfer north to the city's select hotel areas in Darling Harbour and Rushcutter's Bay. Sydney's world class private courses are just a short trip, mostly southside via the Anzac Hwy. The all day golf & trip to the Camden Valley is southwest via Hwy 5. You can play both the Camden Valley Lakeside and the less illustrious Camden Valley Resort course. Riverside Oaks is northside across the Harbour Bridge. In the mornings, the traffic is heavy and best avoided by travelling to and from the course after 9:30am and return before the late afternoon rush. If you prefer, you can "stay & play" at the Riverside Oaks Resort where excellent accommodation is available. Canberra Itinerary suggestion Many groups visiting Sydney make a 1 or 2 day stopover in Canberra en-route to Melbourne or vice versa. Others make a 1 or 2 day visit from Sydney. Virgin Blue offer inexpensive 55 minute flights to Canberra from Sydney and a 1 hour flight from Melbourne. There are excellent 4 & 5 star hotels in Canberra where you will find the prestigious Royal Canberra Golf Club; or you can stay & play Yowani where modern motel unit accommodation of offered.
