Adelaide
Adelaide The capital of South Australia. Its central square mile ringed by protective parklands. The gateway to the Barossa Valley, settled in the main by German Lutheran immigrants and famed for its many excellent wineries. Population 1.2 million.

You may prefer to stay in the Adelaide Hills for your overnight at the Hahndorf Inn where your jovial host has a sumptuous banquet and a selection of the finest South Australian red and white wines to offer your table this evening.

Fleurieu Peninsula
Visit two of South Australia's finest wine regions - McLaren Vale and Langhorne Creek. Upon your return to Hahndorf, enjoy a walking tour of this immaculate German influenced village. The best views of Adelaide can be seen from Mt Lofty. The Hahndorf Inn is one of the finest, award winning, genuine Bavarian restaurants in Australia where your jovial host has a sumptuous banquet and a selection of the finest South Australian red and white wines to offer your table this evening.

Kangaroo Island
Connect with your flight to Kangaroo Island. Spend the day at the Island, returning late afternoon to Glenelg and the Glenelg (all you can eat) Seafood Smorgasboard. Can you imagine the finest seafood, lobster, oysters and crustaceans such as huge sand and mud crabs laid out on a long refridgerated bar for your view. The fare is mostly local catch, the price is excellent value and extraordinarily good (many very attractively priced) red and white local wines are on hand. Why not make a late night of it. Stop by and try your luck at the Adelaide Casino on your way back to Hahndorf.

Clare Valley.
There are now more than 30 cellar doors in the region within a 15-minute drive from each other. Return to the Adelaide Hills and your home away from home, the Hahndorf Inn, for a special Bavaran dinner.

Barossa Valley
Self drive or luxury coach to visit Tanunda, Eudunda, Kapunda, Nurioopta, and Angaston, the villages of today’s generation of once German refugees who settled the Barossa Valley over 100 years ago. You will find wineries such as Wolf Blass, TNT Tolleys, Seppelts, Penfolds and Orlando where the well known Jocobs Creek red is produced. Many buildings and shops reflect the European tradition of this region. A winery tour can be organized for you that includes a special luncheon at a vineyard. Yalumba Wines at Angaston is a must but if you miss it, look to buy their fabulous Tawny Port, there is few better, excepting the highly prized Seppelt's Grandfather Port. Return to the Adelaide Hills and your home away from home, the Hahndorf Inn where you know your host is waiting with fine food and wine for you.

Coonawarra
A must visit is a trip or tour to these vineyards at Penola, near the Victorian border, where you will find and sample world award wining reds; merlots, hermitage, cabinet and savignon to name a few. A wine tasting session and luncheon can be arranged for you. Penola is located on a 20' deep sand strata that is the same strata that supports the famous Melbourne sand belt golf courses. This excellent drainage plus an ideal dry climate produces the famous Coonawarra reds.

Kangaroo Kelly says, "In my mind, South Australia produces some of the best wines anywhere in the land downunder." Most certainly, the Coonawarra reds are world award winners and the German influence in the Barossa Valley produces very very good table wines.
